Topps Tiles launches app for UK trade professionals

Topps Tiles has launched a trade app built with Apadmi for trade and tile professionals across the UK. The mobile application combines stock checking, trade pricing, purchasing, and account tools for Topps Tiles customers. It also includes a tile calculator for quantity and cost estimates, digital receipts, live order tracking, and a digital trade account card.

The UK’s largest specialist tile retailer, Topps Tiles, operates more than 280 stores. The new app gives trade users real-time stock visibility across that network, helping tilers and other professionals confirm availability before or during jobs. Users can access exclusive trade pricing and app-only deals through the platform. The system also includes the retailer’s Rewards+ loyalty scheme, Gold Trader status benefits, and TradePay credit, which allows customers to pay later through Topps Tiles’ credit scheme.

Manchester-based mobile consultancy Apadmi worked with Topps Tiles on the app’s product, design, engineering, and product marketing. Its role also includes app store optimisation to improve visibility among potential users. The launch expands Topps Tiles’ digital services for trade customers, whose work often depends on quick access to pricing, stock, and account information while on site. The app is designed as a mobile-first tool for those users, rather than an extension of desktop or in-store systems. That focus reflects a wider retail trend towards giving trade customers the same level of mobile access and self-service already common in consumer shopping apps. Topps Tiles has aimed to combine practical job-planning tools with loyalty and payment functions in one place.

Apadmi employs more than 450 mobile specialists across Europe and has worked with brands including Domino’s, the NHS, Asda, Matalan, Co-op, Greene King, and De Telegraaf. For Topps Tiles, which has more than 60 years of experience in the sector, the trade app adds a dedicated mobile channel for professionals managing materials, quotes, and purchases across multiple jobs. Emma Casson, Head of Product Marketing at Apadmi, said: “Delivering a great app is only half the story; getting it seen by the right people is just as important. Our team has been working closely with Topps Tiles to make sure this app makes a real impact from the moment it lands in the App Store. Through smart ASO and a considered launch strategy, we are focused on ensuring the app gets noticed by trade professionals who will genuinely benefit from it, and that it continues to grow its audience well beyond launch day.”

The app’s tile calculator is intended to help users estimate quantity and cost before ordering, which could reduce over-ordering and give installers a faster way to prepare customer quotes. Combined with digital receipts, the system is also aimed at reducing paperwork for customers who need to track spending and purchases across projects. Live order tracking and push notifications are included, giving users updates on purchases as well as alerts on offers and product launches. Real-time stock data across more than 280 stores remains one of the app’s central functions.

Collaboration and development

Sian Garvey, Digital Director at Topps Tiles, outlined how the retailer sees the app’s role for its trade customers. “Launching the Topps Tiles Trade app is an important moment for us. Our trade customers are central to everything we do, and they deserve tools that genuinely make their working lives easier. This app does exactly that – bringing together stock visibility, job planning and easy purchasing in one intuitive place. It reflects our commitment to supporting our traders in a more modern, more meaningful way, and it’s just the beginning of what we’re building,” Garvey said. Jordan, Product Manager at Topps Tiles, described the work behind the project. “We are incredibly excited to be launching the Topps Tiles Trade app. This has been a project we have all been hugely invested in, and working alongside Apadmi as one truly unified team has been central to why we have been able to deliver something we are genuinely proud of. The quality of the product reflects the quality of the collaboration, and we cannot wait to see it in the hands of our trade customers,” Jordan said.
