Mercedes AMG-PETRONAS F1 Team and adidas have introduced a limited edition capsule collection ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix later this month. The collection draws inspiration from the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, the national flower of Singapore, aiming to capture the “lively spirit” of the city state. The apparel is available online and in select global locations, including the adidas flagship store in London.

Performance Gear for the Heat

The lineup includes driver caps, shorts, t-shirts, fanwear, and accessories, all meticulously designed to handle the high humidity and tropical climate typical of Singapore. The products incorporate cutting-edge CLIMACOOL and CLIMAPROOF technologies in key pieces like the drivers’ jersey and footwear. CLIMACOOL provides advanced breathability and moisture-wicking, ensuring optimal comfort even in the most challenging conditions, while CLIMAPROOF offers rain protection, keeping athletes and fans dry.

Michael Batz, the motorsport category GM at adidas, elaborated on the product choices: “The Singapore Grand Prix is renowned for its challenging environment, with high temperatures and humidity pushing athletes and their gear to the limit. This made it the perfect stage to showcase the performance benefits of our latest technologies. At the same time, we wanted to create a collection that was deeply rooted in Singapore’s culture and heritage. The Vanda Bloom Collection does just that by celebrating the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, a symbol uniquely Singaporean, and combining local storytelling with lightweight, high-performance apparel designed for both athletes and fans.”

Richard Sanders, chief commercial officer at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, further emphasized the connection between the team and the host nation: “Our race-specific collections are more than just merchandise; they’re an opportunity to connect with the communities that adopt Formula One. The Vanda Bloom Collection is a sign to this. By paying tribute to Singapore through its iconic national flower, the collection reflects the innovation and engineering excellence that both Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and the Lion City are renowned for. We’re eager to see our team and fans showcase this collection throughout the race weekend, bringing the lively spirit of Singapore to the track.”

Marketing Campaign Features Top Drivers and Singapore-Inspired Designs

The campaign promoting the launch is fronted by Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. The duo, known for their speed and agility on the track, are seen modeling the Vanda Bloom Collection against the busy backdrop of Singapore’s cityscape and lush greenery. The campaign represents a visual and functional blend of high-speed motorsport and local culture, with the drivers showcasing the collection’s Singapore-inspired designs and performance-driven features.

The Vanda Bloom Collection’s design is a harmonious blend of adidas’ signature three-stripe motif and Singapore’s lively cultural elements. The national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, is subtly integrated into the collection’s designs, serving as a constant reminder of the collection’s inspiration. The color scheme, dominated by shades of blue and green, is a nod to Singapore’s tropical climate and verdant settings.

In addition to the Singapore Grand Prix-themed collection, adidas also launched another significant collaboration around the same time. The sportswear giant revealed its first-ever collaboration with KPop star JENNIE, further cementing its commitment to celebrating diverse cultures and talent across various platforms.
